Narragansett is a seaside community in Washington County, in the state of Rhode Island. The Town is approximately 15 miles long and one mile wide - lots of seashore! We recently celebrated our 125th anniversary. Narragansett is a wonderful place to live and to do business. Good schools, places of worship and community organizations keep the spirit of Narragansett one of excellence!
Narragansett has a rich historical experience. We invite you to visit Canonchet Farm and the South County Museum. Here visitors can experience the life of Civil War era farmers and fishermen. The Museum includes a print shop, a blacksmith shop, stable ruins and farm animals for the children. You are also encouraged to visit Point Judith Lighthouse for a magnificent view, Whale Rock, and the Port of Galilee. Galilee is an authentic working fishing village which offers many restaurants and boat tours. Galilee is the home of chartered fishing boats and sightseeing tours. There are two state beaches in Galilee, Salty Brine Beach and Roger Wheeler Beach.

Inside the Town of Narragansett, the State of Rhode Island also offers Scarborough Beach and camping at Fisherman’s Memorial State Park. Fisherman’s Memorial offers camping in a seaside village atmosphere. Be informed that this camping ground fills up early.
The Towers, built in 1880, at 35 Ocean Road, the Narragansett icon, was once the entry to the Narragansett Pier Casino, which provided recreation and entertainment to visitors. The Narragansett Pier Casino offered theater, a bandstand, billiards, bowling, tennis, cards, shooting and a ball room. It burnt down in 1900. The Towers now host parties and weddings and holds the office of the Narragansett Chamber of Commerce.
The Narragansett Pier area includes the Narragansett Beach Seawall, named best free attraction in 2012. It offers a stroll along the Atlantic Ocean or a seat to contemplate the majesty of the sea.
Bonnet Shores is a good example of a Narragansett neighborhood that began as a summer recreational destination offering good fishing, a yearly swimming competition and a great seashore experience and developed into a residential neighborhood. Bonnet Point offers a fabulous view of Block Island and Beaver Tail Light in Jamestown.
The Town of Narragansett owns approximately 19 acres of beach in the center of town. It is one of the best, cleanest and most accessible beaches in New England.
The Town of Narragansett invites you to visit and enjoy our wonderful oceanfront and beaches, our many fine restaurants, shopping experiences, history, and neighborhoods, and of course, our high quality of life.
The Town Manager will foster high standards of public service and effective cooperation among Town employees. Services will be provided as economically and efficiently as possible.
The Town Manager will work to keep Narragansett a good place to live and to do business.
The Town Manager will continue to strengthen the sense of community in Narragansett.
Responsibilities of the Town Managers Office include:
1. Preparing the annual budget.
2. Hiring and Firing of Personnel.
3. Directing day to day operations of the Town
4. Attending Council meetings
5. Recommending policies and procedures to the Town Council
6. Inform the Town Council of financial conditions and all other conditions of the Town
7. Assist citizens in accessing Town services
8. Interact with the State of Rhode Island offices and staff and with municipalities in RI
9. Assist Town Committees, Boards and Commissions.
