Responsibilities
Our primary responsibilities consist of:- Maintaining approximately 103 miles of Town roads
- Performing road reconstruction & repair
- Removing snow & ice
- Street Sweeping
- Roadside mowing
- Maintaining Storm Water Management System
- Maintaining traffic markings
- Maintaining street signs, stop signs & regulatory signs
- Maintaining a fleet of over 150 vehicles, equipment & boats
- Street tree maintenance
- Maintenance of Town Hall, Comfort Station & The Towers
Note: The town does NOT provide rubbish removal. Residents can either use a private contractor or the Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station located on Rose Hill Road in South Kingstown, which is shared by South Kingstown and Narragansett. Bulk loads are taken by weight and tags are available at the transfer station at 163 Rose Hill Road in South Kingstown (783-4554).
