The Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining the Town’s Road infrastructure and contributes to Town’s mission by providing superior public services that include maintaining and improving the condition of our streets, ensuring new development is constructed properly, excellent delivery and management of capital projects, maintaining our roadways and public access rights-of-way, keeping our storm drain systems well maintained, being environmental stewards of the community while promoting and educating our residents regarding the need to protect our environment for future generations.- Paving and Roadway Maintenance of approximately 103 miles of roadway
- Snow and Ice Removal
- Roadside Mowing & Street Sweeping
- Maintaining Traffic Markings
- Stormwater Management Systems
- Street and Regulatory sign installation and maintenance
- Maintaining a fleet of over 150 vehicles, equipment and emergency water craft
- Tree Management in Town Right-of-Way
- Some Town Buildings & Property Management
- Recycling
The Town of Narragansett does NOT provide rubbish removal.
Residents can either hire a private contractor or use the Rose Hill Regional
Transfer Station (RHRTS) located at 163 Rose Hill Road, South Kingstown, RI 02879
