  15. Stone Soup: Story, Buffet, and Food Drive

    January 26, 2019, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

    Come listen to Fire Chief Scott Partington read the classic children's story "Stone Soup", a folk story in which hungry strangers persuade local people of a town to give them food. It is usually told as a lesson in cooperation, especially in times of famine or hardship. Following the story, participants are invited to join a free soup buffet, featuring donations from local restaurants. You are welcome to donate one non-perishable food or personal hygiene item as an admission fee, which will be distributed to local residents in need. The Stone Soup event is sponsored by the Friends of the Narragansett Library and is for all ages.
