Notice is hereby given that the Town of Narragansett has completed a draft update of the multi-hazard mitigation plan entitled “Strategy for Reducing Risks From Natural Hazards in Narragansett, RI”, and is seeking public comment prior or consideration for approval by the Town Council. The plan was prepared pursuant to the requirements of the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, and to achieve eligibility for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) hazard mitigation grant programs. Members of the Public are invited to review and comment on this document which addresses how the Town plans for correcting or avoiding the impacts of natural hazards such as hurricanes, flooding and severe winter weather.
A Public meeting will be held on November 14, 2018 at 6 PM at Town Hall, 25 Fifth Avenue to review the draft. The draft plan can be accessed on the town website www.narragansettri.gov or in the office of the Town Clerk. Written comments may be directed to the Local Hazard Mitigation Committee in care of:

Deadline for comments is November 26, 2018 at noon.
The Committee will review all comments and a final draft of the plan will be submitted to the Narragansett Town Council for receipt, acceptance and placement on file in December, and adoption in January, 2019.
