The Public Works Department
is compiled of four divisions with a total of fifteen full-time
employees.
Administration,
Facilities Maintenance,
Highway Department,
Fleet Maintenance. Our primary
responsibilities consist of maintaining approximately 130 miles of
Town roads, road reconstruction, patching & repairing. snow &
ice removal, street sweeping, storm drainage, brush cutting, sign
maintenance & traffic markings. We are also responsible for
maintenance of a fleet of approximately 150 vehicles and
equipment town-wide
Note: The Town does not provide rubbish removal.
Residents can either use a private contractor or the Rose
Hill Regional Land Fill which is shared by South Kingstown and
Narragansett. Bulk
loads are taken by weight and tags for kitchen garbage bags are sold in the
Town Clerks Office
