 About Human Resources: This  Department is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of a wide range of programs and policies, including employee relations, new employee orientation, compensation, benefits administration, recruitment, personnel records administration, labor-related regulatory concerns, labor relations, risk management, and training. This individual is also the Chairperson for the Town's Safety and Wellness Committee. Community Service Officer: Internship


The goal of the Community Service Officer (CSO) Internship Program is to give individuals a hands-on experience with law enforcement. Community Service Officers will be responsible for enforcing parking ordinances, providing security for town beach property, and assisting uniformed patrol during special events. Community Service Officers are required to promote a positive image of the Narragansett Police Department at all times. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check and participate in an Oral Interview board prior to confirmation of appointment. Candidates must be pursuing a career in law enforcement or a related field.

This is a 32-40 hr a week paid internship. Candidates must be eighteen years of age to apply. The internship will run from May through September. The rate of pay will be $10.00/hr. Candidates must be enrolled in an internship and/or co-op program with their school to apply.

Parks & Recreation: Swimming Instructors, Pool Attendants, Tennis Instructors, Camp Counselors, and Scorekeepers/Timers.

Narragansett Town Beach: Beach Attendants, Beach Supervisors and Lifeguards

All Attendant positions require weekend hours with weekday hours that must be flexible. Full-time and part-time positions are available. These positions are entry level and seasonal only (May 29th through September 6th). Applicants must be 16 years of age. Hourly rates starting at $7.40/hr

All Supervisor positions require weekend hours with weekday hours that must be flexible. Full-time and part-time positions are available. These positions require previous supervisory experience and are seasonal only (May 29th through September 6th). Applicants must be 18 years of age. Hourly rates starting at $8.00/hr based upon experience.

Lifeguards must be 18 years of age, RI State Surf certified with current CPR and First Aid training. Hourly rates are $9.00 to $13.50/hr based upon experience.

Camp Counselors must be 18 years of age with previous experience working with children. First Aid and/or CPR certification is preferred. Must be able to work the entire camp season July 5 to August 27th. Hourly rates are $7.50 to $ 9.50 per hour based upon experience.
