    The talented and very patient Lisa Schipritt will teach the ancient art of Pysanky Egg dying, which uses carefully applied layers of wax and a series of dye baths to create mini-masterpieces. There is a $5 per person charge for this workshop and space is limited. Pre-registration is required and the last day for registration is March 7th, so act quickly! This workshop is for ages 13+ (open flame is used). There is a limit of 2 people per registration.

    In an era when immigration was at its peak, Fabre Line was the only transatlantic immigration line to service Southern New England with one of its most important ports in Providence, Rhode Island. The Maury Loontjens Memorial Library in conjunction with the Narragansett Historical Society presents author William Jenning, Jr. who will discuss this historically important line and his book "Aboard the Fabre Line to Providence: Immigration to Rhode Island."

    The Korean Spirit & Culture Promotion Project, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to raising awareness of Korean history and culture, will be doing a Korean Cooking Demonstration. After the demonstration, the food will be served. The menu will include: Kimchi Salad, Rice with Mixed Vegetables (Bibimbap), Soy Sauce and Honey Marinated Beef (Bulgogi), Braised Soybean Curd (Dubu Jorim), and Sweet Potato Noodles with Mixed Vegetables (Japchae).     The Friends of Canonchet Farm, Narrow River Preservation Association, South County Museum and the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library along with generous support from Trio Restaurant, are collaborating for the fourth year to sponsor the Winter Speaker Series "On Pettaquamscutt: Presentations on the Environment and the History of the Narrow River Watershed." Today is "Salt Marsh Restoration Across the State and in Narrow River" presented by Save the Bay Director of Habitat Restoration Wenley Ferguson. Participants are encouraged to continue the conversation at Trio Restaurant, 15 Kingstown Road, Narragansett after the event. This event is free and open to the public.
