  2. 2016 Summer Camp at Narragansett

    The Camp at Narragansett is a summer favorite for girls and boys, age groups 5-8 & 9-13 years old. The camp offers a summer full of activities including sports, games, arts & crafts, and weekly field trips which include trips to the Town Beach. All 5 year olds must have completed kindergarten. Registration will begin May 2nd. Birth Certificate required at the time of registration. Full payment due at registration in the Recreation Office prior to session. Sign up early, there is limited space in each age group. Field trips* Paw Sox July 28th, Spring Lake, Yawgoo Water Park, Southwick's Zoo, Launch, Adventureland & Lazer Gate. *Subject to change.

  3. Summer Theater Program - Session 2

    Adults 18 and older. Each week is a different style of theater: Improv acting, scene work with contemporary (present day) scenes, stage combat Shakespeare, Chekhov, monologue/audition work. Each week will include a tour of URI theater department. No prior experience needed. Judgement free zone. Program instructor Vinny Ballirano is a 2015 Graduate of URI - Theater Major. He directed last season's URI Production of The Italian-American Reconciliation by John Patrick Shanley to rave reviews!.

  5. Boot Camp on the Beach by Crossfit Gansett - Session 2

    July 28, 7:45 AM - 8:30 AM

    Each class will have a 5-15 minute warm up consisting of cardiovascular exercises such as running and jumping and will also contain a dynamic stretching routine. Then a workout usually comprised of stations or a timed workout that will last approximately 30-45 minutes. What to expect: Exercises scaled for everyone's ability, fun group setting, new and exciting workouts, led by CrossFit Level One Trainer. Class will meet by Chair 2.

  10. Narragansett Lions Club Blessing of the Fleet Road Race

    July 29, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

    Approximately 3900 runners, walkers and wheelchair entrants compete on a scenic and certified 10-mile course through historic Narragansett, ending at "The Towers" on the ocean. Runners receive official Blessing of the Fleet T-Shirts as well as prizes. New Timing System, MYLAPS Run Bib Tag System, 10 water stops by volunteer Narragansett Residents, time check at every mile. Parking at the start(Pier School), at the finish (Town Beach parking lot) Shuttle from the beach to start 3:30 to end of race, Shuttle from school to beach after race start. Prizes for run overall, rum age group, wheelchair, walk age group. Sponsored by Narragansett Lions Club and Citizens Bank.

    July 29, 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM @ Veterans Park

    Attended by almost 30,000 people each year, the Seafood Festival features a wide variety of culinary delights from the sea (and quite a few from the shore as well.) Beer and wine are available for adults, as well as soft drinks and lemonade for the whole family. Live music performed by a very popular local band provides entertainment as well as the opportunity to dance away the calories. Complete lobster dinners with all of the accompaniments, linguini with clam sauce, BBQ shrimp, a raw bar, stuffies and much more. Also face painting, story telling, karate demonstrations, clowns, carnival rides, demonstrations, craft booths and shopping for the kids and family. Presented by Citizens Bank and the Narragansett Lions Club.

  12. Narragansett Lions Club Annual Blessing of the Fleet

    July 30, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

    The Blessing of the Fleet itself is a spectacularly colorful event that takes place at noon on Saturday in Galilee. On a good day, hundreds of vessels line up to parade past thousands of spectators. The Blessing features a colorful parade of commercial and recreational watercraft, large and small. Each parading vessel is blessed by the distinguished clergymen and judges for prizes in three different categories by State and local officials. Local clergymen bless each and every decorated vessel as they pass before them and a panel of celebrity judges rate the decorations in a variety of categories. Recent years' judges included the Governor of RI, the Lt. Governor, Senator Reed, Congressman Langevin and Miss Rhode Island and other dignitaries. Presented by Citizens Bank and the Narragansett Lions Club.
